Write with Me has started up again after a summer break. This is a Friday evening group for writer to write (or get something done), we meet over zoom on Friday evenings from 3-5pm PST (6-8pm EST). Email me if you'd like to join.

Office Hours: I'm still doing office hours (which is a free chat with me for 30 min), but I've changed the time, so it's now on Thursdays from 3-5pm PST (6-8pm EST). If this time doesn't work for you and you'd still like to chat, you can email me and we can set up a date to chat. Fiction writers only, please! Link here to chat.

Erin's AMA: my friend and fellow book coach Erin is doing an "ask me anything" for writers with ADHD (or anyone who has issues with execute functioning), she is great so if you are a writer and need a little extra help, I highly recommend you check it out! The next meeting is Friday, September 20th 11am (Mountain Time). Donation based. Link here.

Virgo Season Book Recommendation:

How Fiction Works by James Wood

Since it’s Virgo season and I so often associate Virgo energy with writing, I want to recommend How Fiction Works by the literary critic, professor, and writer James Wood. The book is divided into parts that are further divided into short vignettes, which I appreciate. This type of writing lends itself to our modern era of short attention spans and/or reading on a train. Aside from the way it’s written, he also goes into what makes certain literature so compelling. I credit him with properly explaining (to me) the mechanics of third person close narration. If you’re interested in understanding how some writers make their fiction work, I highly recommend this book. If you’re a fiction writer this book is a must-read!

Whew! You made it to the end!!
That's it for this month!!

Many planets are changing signs during Gemini season, which is oh-so-very Gemini, as Gemini is the most mercurial sign. Gemini is ruled by Mercury and the Gemini constellation is...

Hey folks! Welcome to Aries season and Spring and the end of Eclipse season!! (Quick note, scroll to the end of this newsletter and there is a wonderful opportunity for a writer with a game changing idea) I’m not gonna lie, all of this has made me pretty tired - it has been an exhausting month, has it not? There were many changes going on in March, many that will affect us here on earth for awhile. Aries season brings with it the end of the eclipses and the end of the Venus and Mercury...

Hello all and welcome to Pisces season! (And, sorry this one is so late, there’s a ton going on in March - if you haven’t heard, 2025 is an active year astrologically) I was not paying attention and didn’t realize Pisces actually floated in on February 18th (how Pisces of me), and we’re in Pisces season until the Spring Equinox on March 20th (also the beginning of Aries season) As it’s Pisces season, it’s time to get dreamy. Yes, the world (or, feels like it at least) is going to hell, so I’d...
