Virgo Season:: Alchemy + Writing

Welcome to Virgo Season! It is time to take all that creative energy from Leo Season and refine it under the exacting eye of Virgo. Back to school time! Virgo is also the witchiest of the signs. Did you know that the ancient meaning of a virgin was a woman unto herself?

This is a great season to refine and edit your creative work. This is also a good season to get back to doing helpful daily rituals. Brush your teeth. Cook healthy food. Ritualize self-care. Do daily offerings. Summer is almost over and fall is on the horizon; the Autumn Equinox is on September 22.

Did anyone else have a bananas Leo Season though? That whole Mars square Saturn business almost did me in. Found out I have to get a root canal. Yikes. Tooth decay catches up with everyone, y’all. I also had some money issues in which Saturn was warning me not to get too fiesty with my savings. Double yikes. Okay, Saturn, I hear you.

Anyways . . . I wrote some things about bookcoaching and writing:

What is a book coach and why would you hire one?

Virgo Season Book Recommendation:

Circe - by Madeleine Miller

Since Virgo is known as one of the witchier signs (all those rituals), of course I have to recommend Circe.

If you don’t already know, this is a re-telling of the myth of Circe, by the woman who wrote TikTok fave Song of Achilles. Circe is basically a Virgo through and through - she’s a witch living on an island by herself who learns to use herbs for her occult workings. She’s also known for turning men into pigs and keeping Odysseus on her island for several years. Madeleine Miller is a magical writer and this book is a total page-turner.

Virgo Season Quick Bites:

This is shaping up to be a great season for writers. The sun is in Virgo, which is one of the writerly signs. Not only that, but Mars is transiting Gemini (a Mercury ruled sign, again good for writers). Mars moved into Gemini on August 21st - this transit will be good for either starting a project or pushing yourself to the finish line. Mars represents will and action. And don’t forget about Mercury’s current transit of Virgo which ends on August 25th. Mercury is super-powered in Virgo. Get your story out! (and get in touch with me if you need help with that!)

Virgo New Moon: on August 27th, 2022 at 1:17AM (PST)

This Virgo new moon looks good for setting intentions around editing and writing about darker things. The new moon is square Mars (in Gemini), giving it some tricky energy, but this should favor editing. On the new moon, Venus is trining both Mars and Pluto, while a trine is a helpful aspect, both Mars and Pluto are associated with darker things. Similarly, Mercury is trining Chiron, so this lends a favorable aspect to writing and talking about trauma, healing, or shamanism. This new moon will be good for setting intentions around editing, or writing and talking about trauma, healing, and interrogating your inner shaman. If you need to do any revisions on your writing, I think this new moon would be great for that, especially if you’re someone who talks about or writes about darker things

Pisces Full Moon on September 10th, 2022 at 2:59PM (PST)

The Pisces full moon is conjunct Neptune in Pisces, making this full moon a very dreamy (and possibly confusing) one. Dreaming is supported under this full moon, but try to dream sans substances, otherwise life could get too confusing. The full moon is also sextile Pluto (in Capricorn) which offers extra energy to transmute whatever is negative in your life. Full moons are typically good for ridding yourself of attitudes, people, thoughts, etc; and Pluto’s energy gives this full moon a transformative flair.

Also, Mercury will be trining Mars, so in terms of writing, this might give you a push (Mercury in Libra, Mars in Gemini) to start or finish some writing.

That's it for this month!!

Welcome to Gemini Season! I can’t believe we’re already in Gemini season, running quick into summer! Half the year is almost up, yikes! So here we are, in Gemini Season, which started on May 20th this year, and will last until the summer solstice on June 20th. This Gemini season will be a busy one, astrologically. Many planets are changing signs during Gemini season, which is oh-so-very Gemini, as Gemini is the most mercurial sign. Gemini is ruled by Mercury and the Gemini constellation is...

Hey folks! Welcome to Aries season and Spring and the end of Eclipse season!! (Quick note, scroll to the end of this newsletter and there is a wonderful opportunity for a writer with a game changing idea) I’m not gonna lie, all of this has made me pretty tired - it has been an exhausting month, has it not? There were many changes going on in March, many that will affect us here on earth for awhile. Aries season brings with it the end of the eclipses and the end of the Venus and Mercury...

Hello all and welcome to Pisces season! (And, sorry this one is so late, there’s a ton going on in March - if you haven’t heard, 2025 is an active year astrologically) I was not paying attention and didn’t realize Pisces actually floated in on February 18th (how Pisces of me), and we’re in Pisces season until the Spring Equinox on March 20th (also the beginning of Aries season) As it’s Pisces season, it’s time to get dreamy. Yes, the world (or, feels like it at least) is going to hell, so I’d...
